Gunite Swimming Pool in Cold Spring Harbor NY 11724, designed and built by Gappsi

This 20′ by 50′ gunite swimming pool was built in Cold Spring Harbor Long Island, NY. This gunite swimming pool has a double Roman end shape with a raised spillover spa along the 50′ side. Steps are incorporated on each side of the spa for entering and exiting the pool. A full-width sun deck is equipped with reversed circular steps to mirror the pool Roman end. The 6′ high Porcelain tile was installed and styled to create a unique mosaic design, under the entire pool, coping and spa. The finish for the inside of the pool is Taho Blue Diamond Bright, which was applied on the walls and then acid washed for an etched texture and finish. The masonry for the pool was designed to complement the pool shape and give the customer plenty of patio area around the entire pool. The masonry was also designed to work with the great changes in the backyard slopes. The pool coping, patio and venire for the spa walls, including the retaining walls and steps, are the Melfi natural stones selected from the Gappsi natural stone collection. The pool coping is a multi-sized pattern with a split tumble rock face front. The venire is a combination of 2’ and 4’ split face Tumble. The pavers is a roman pattern, multi-sized natural stones with a natural cleft and tumbled. A 5’ aluminum fencing was installed to surround the entire pool area and a simple landscaping was needed for the aesthetic. The pool and patio design layout have an immaculate beauty because when using the same color and type of stones for the floors/walls in different finishes gives the appearance of a cohesive finish. The design was manufactured by Giuseppe Abbrancati and the job was constructed by Gappsi Group. For more info visit http://www.gappsi.com or call us at 631-543-1177.

Complete Backyard Design and Construction, Smithtown NY 11787, by Gappsi

Complete Backyard Design and Construction, Smithtown NY 11787, by Gappsi

After the construction of a two-story colonial brick house, this backyard was left as an open canvas for a full creative design that included a plethora of amenities. Starting with a raised patio and balcony railing, this allows comfortable daily use to walk out of the house to the barbecue or to use the spa. The spa was built on a raised platform for easy access from the top patio. The patio steps were paved with flamed Amagansett granite pavers and treads. The brick columns were built on the raised patio to enhance the railing and decorated with flower pots. The raised patio allows a perfect view of the entire backyard. Many amenities were included in the backyard design. The 16’x32’ vinyl swimming pool was built with an auto cover and a self-contained sheer descend water feature set across from the pool. The patio around the pool was constructed with mocha travertine. A mosaic stone pebble inlay of a bloomed rose highlights the pool steps. Decorative flower pots are seasonally decorated around the pool. The pool house was built with a bathroom, T.V. room and an outdoor bar. The bocci court was built with crushed white marble dust and is equipped with lights for nighttime use. A Versa basketball court that includes lights, basketball hoop, and surrounded by netting so the basketball doesn’t go outside the property line. A dog run was built with synthetic turf and is surrounded by a black chain link fence. The remaining space in the backyard was covered with artificial turf in which a putting green was inlaid. This backyard was designed and built with low maintenance in mind. From the evergreen shrubs to the natural stone travertine patio and synthetic grass. There is no need for lawnmowers or any weekly maintenance. These homeowners can enjoy their backyard all year round without interruption from weekly up keeping. Caste aluminum furniture ornate the patio and allows comfortable seating in backyard patio areas. This dog run is built with a black chain link fence to keep the dog within the specific area. A synthetic turf is then laid across the selected area within the fence. The turf allows easy clean up and prevents a muddy environment. Using a prepared rca base and using a high quality durable turf with a double-coated backing makes it extremely difficult for any tear. The turf allows easy drainage for liquid waste and allows easy clean up for solid waste. To clean up any dog run a simple hose down is all that is needed.

Patio and Walkway Sealing: Wyandanch NY 11798, by Gappsi

Patio and Walkway Sealing: Wyandanch NY 11798, by Gappsi

Patio, walkway, and front steps were built by Gappsi in Wyandanch Long Island, NY in Suffolk County. The stone used is over-sized ridge brick and ridge circle pavers in a golden brown blend. The pavers are mixed randomly in square and rectangular sizes. This stone has a textured riven surface and slightly chamfered edges. The sealing process begins with pressure washing the entire patio, removing all dirt and debris from the stone surface and in between the joints. Next, Nexgel Techniseal synthetic sand is applied in between the pavers joints and vibrated with a mechanical plate compactor. The plate compactor has rubber rollers to prevent the stones from cracking or scratching. This vibrating process allows the sand to fall in between the joints to densify. Then, we clean the pavers with brooms and landscape blowers, to clean the excess sand from the pavers surface and to evenly spread the sand in between the pavers joints. The next step is to wash the pavers by misting water to penetrate the synthetic sand into the paver joints all the way down below the pavers. The sand and water activate a chemical reaction of the pollen that’s in the sand to cause the sand to harden. Finally, the application of the sealer. A two parts components urethane dealer, specially formulated for Gappsi, is applied to the pavers surface and the sand joints to prevent stones from staining, extend their life cycle and further enhance their texture, color, and surface.
